Name of the Project: Holistic Rural Development Program across 15 villages covering 3000 small and marginal families in Pathalgadda block of Chatra district, Jharkhand through women led production and market interventions specifically with ST/SC and Ultra Poor community.
Goal of the Project: Economic and Social Empowerment of small and marginal families for their well-being and self-reliant.
Duration of the Project: 01/10/2024 - 31/03/2028
Rationale of the Project: The current socio-economic situation of the target families are facing serious issues of poverty, illiteracy, addiction to alcohol, good health and hygiene practices, Less recognition of women as farmers, indebtedness, lack of better elementary education, access to market led production and market linkages, nutrition deficiency, migration and access and control over government and social resources by which they are unable to survive a peaceful and dignified life.
Project objective:
• Sustain and enhance the livelihood security of the farmers and women to enable them for improve their quality of living.
• Create awareness amongst all stakeholders on water balance to promote and nurture community-driven decision-making systems for water resources planning & management.
• Developed village level institutions and train them to plan the work, implement of the work, market linkages and skills up to maintain and sustain the project.
• Enabling sustainable linkages focusing on access to market information, technologies, and providing them hand holds support to develop an enterprise etc.

Outreach: The proposed project is located in Pathalgadda Block of Chatra district in Jharkhand. The project covers 15 villages namely: Bahera, Khaira, Meral and Jehara (Meral Panchayat), Sirkol, Bandarchua, Nonganw, Tetaria and Lemboiya (Nonganw Panchayat), Singhani and Pathalgada (Singhani Panchayat), Kuba, Belhar, Dumi and Barwadih Alias Nimekhap (Barwadih Panchayat).

Project Brief/Background: Chatra district is district one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state, India. The district was formed after separation from Hazaribag district in 1991. Chatra is the administrative headquarters of this district. The district covers an area of 3718 km2. Chatra district consists of 10 Blocks. According to the 2011 census Chatra district has a population of 10,42,886 roughly equal to the nation of Cyprus or the US state of Rhode Island. This gives it a ranking of 434rd in India (out of a total of 640). It falls in the Western part of Northern Chotanagpur division of Jharkhand State.
