The agriculture sector, which employe more than 50% of the total workforce in India and contributes merely around 17-18% to the GDP of the country. Nothing surprising, the agriculture sector is very challenging in India, and farmer often face various problem viz. vagary of monsoon, unemployment, high input cost of agriculture goods, less market price of agricultural commodities, lack of timely credit support, lack of market access for better price, lack of value addition of agricultural goods, lack of skill, quality control, constraints in access to the technologies, storage, lack of collaborations, shrinking land holding due to increase in population, and so on.
Above said are the very common problem in the agriculture sector, and these are even more problematic for the small and marginal farmer. Since there are various challenges in the agriculture sector, the proven answer to them is ‘Collective Action’. So, there is the farmer's producer organization(FPO). Therefore, SUPPORT has taken its proactive initiatives to help and strengthen small and marginal farmer in Ramgarh, Hazaribag, and Bokaro districts by promoting 4 FPOs. All the 4 FPOs are sponsored by NABARD, the details of the FPOs are given below:
05 CFT team namely Churchu, Mandu, Dadi, Domchanch & Satgawan are extending support to the community, their concern department & line agencies to work on various schemes under MGNREGA-NRLM, funded by Ministry of Rural Development Government of India and Jharkhand.
